We are very excited to share new information about the game with you.
Sky is a global social adventure experience
that happens above the clouds where the player flies around with their family and friends,
to explore the wonder and mystery of the world.
At the very beginning of the game, you are children of shadow and you are alone.
But in ther process of trying to find your way out, you will find others.
What you are seeing here is all work in progress
but hopefully this will give you a very different view of the game compared to the information we've released in the past.
After Flower and Journey, many of the fans contacted us
saying they wished they could play those games together with their wife and with their children.
But as you know Journey was designed to be played alone, and only interact with someone online.
So after that, we really wanted to see if we could bring the emotional connetction of Journey
but let it happen between you and your friends and family.
A light has just hit the children of the shadow.
And your appearance has changed, you have a little bit more identity,
you will pick up new abilities like giving out light.
That will revel some hidden information of the world.
You can learn more of what happened in the past.
Light and dark is an important theme of the game,
you can see the player's ability is to spread light using the power of the candle that they carry.
So here we have multiple players in front of a giant door.
Unlike most video games where the player is the hero to save the world,
they can solve all the puzzles themselves...
In sky, it's a game where compassion, generosity and collaboration are the heavy focus.
So you have to find someone to work together.
They can be real life friends and family,
and they can be people you know playing the game at a remote location.
There are puzzles and obstacles in the world that require multiple people to collaborate.
Unlike most games, where you are the hero here to save the world, to kill the monsters,
in Sky, as individuals you are small and weak. but together, you can overcome all kinds of challenges.
Candle is a very important element of the game.
Not only do they grow your ability, you can also use the candle to connect and bond with other players playing the game from anywhere around the wrld.
Sky is a mobile-first game, where we focus our design on touchscreen.
And our goal is to create something you can play on the phone, on the iPad.
One thing about touchscreen is that it's not like the controller where you can have all kinds of feedback.
The screen is all you have. And it was difficult to come up with satisfying input, just with the touch.
We wanted to find something simple and intuitive but also has depth that you can master.
So as a result, in Sky, you can play the majority of the game with a swipe of the finger.
And occasionally you will be touching a context-sensitive button to start a meditation or take out your candle.
The majority of the walking, running, and flying, is just a one-finger swipe.
There's a full cast of characters and creatures in the world of Sky that you will encounter.
I think the wonder is not just what we have made, but also the players who are participating.
The player has just shared a holy candle with an ancient spirit,
the character who found your candle was able to briefly regain his consciousness
and was able to build a meaningful connection with you and help you on your journey.
Because this is a game we disigned for you and your family to play together,
We wanted a game where inside, regardless of how old you are, or which gender you are,
we want you to feel like a kid going to a magical theme park.
We want this experience between you and your family to feel like you are all children,
and you get to see something you've never experienced before.
To share the sense of wonder with your family and friends.
To bring you closer to each other.
That's really the goal for the project.
